Fall into Fall: Long Skirts

Posted in Uncategorized by Virginia on September 8, 2010

It is post-Labor Day, which means New York Fashion Week is here, which means it is almost Fall, which means I can soon begin wearing my trench, booties, chunky knits, jackets, and and and… Am I jumping the gun here? I am waiting for the bus and breaking into a sweat in this heat as I write this post on my WordPress for iPhone app.  But no matter. It is still good timing for this Fall into Fall post.

The heyday of the micro-mini is fading and what’s replacing it are longer skirts that hit the knee or below. Whether it may be leather, tweed, wool, pencil or A-line, this season is all about the long skirts.

Does this mean you put your micro minis away? I say no. But why not try on a longer skirt for size? Some beautiful examples below.

Jason Wu polka-dotted silk pleated skirt. Find here.

One of my favorites. Proenza Schouler wool-blend inverted pleated skirt. Find here.

Moschino bouclé-tweed pencil skirt. Find here.

The Row wool-blend skirt. Find here.

Thomas Wylde stretch leather pencil skirt. Find here.
